Blu-ray Movies In India
can the ps3 be used to play blu-ray movies in india?or does the regional code incompatibility interfere?
the regional code doesn’t have a universal setting, so i cant set it with India as an option…is there any way around this?cos the ps3 doesn’t play the movie
when i inserted a dvd movie, the msg displayed was that the regional code entered was wrong,and the movie didn’t play. when i wanted to change the option from USA, i didn’t know what to change it to.As there was no India option in it, if thats what’s to be done.
The PS3 has region codes in Blu-ray and DVD’s (though no codes on games). There are basically 3 types of codes for Blu-Ray (not sure if the same is for DVD)
1)Region A consists America and Japan.
2)Region B consists of UK.
3)Region C consists of other (India).
The Disc you are trying to pop into it must be region coded. Firstly, you must know what Region your Ps3 is from. This is given in one of the manuals (service) given with it. If you have bought the thing from India, then the Ps3 might be from Region C. Or else I have bought it from America so mine is Region A.
A point to be noted is that if the disc are region coded then you can’t play one region DVD in other region. So when you inserted your DVD, it showed you the various options. It means you might not be able to play the disc Sorry!!! Next time make sure you buy DVD’s or Blu-ray of your region or universal disc. A point to note is that all the copies one gets in India(from the street for less than 2$) have no codes so they can be used with no problem.
Also, Ps3 games are not region coded so you can put in any disc and it should play.
