blu-ray movies new releases
How soon will there be Blu Ray re-releases of the movies from previously HD DVD commited studios?

I know that Warner Bros. has shifted to Blu Ray exclusive and that other studios seem primed to jump ship too. The thing is I just got a free blu ray player with my HDTV but I went out to buy some movies and all the ones I wanted were on HD DVD. I see that HD DVD players are going for dirt cheap and come with up to 7 free movies. I know that Warner Bros. said that it will be releaseing both formats for new releases until May 2008 but I wanted to know when they plan on re-releasing their titles that are currently exclusive to HD DVD. If the wait is short enough I will not get the HD DVD player. Any one out there got any clues?

It’ll be a year or so. First Blue-Ray has to finish killing HD-DVD, then when Paramount has no market for their HD-DVD releases they will release their movies on Blue-Ray.

On to Mars - Colonizing A New World

On to Mars – Colonizing A New World

$21.95

On to Mars – Colonizing A New WorldThis book comes with a bonus CDROM featuring a 30 minute video created especially for this book – Devon Island – Mars project and more than 40 technical papers with color illustrations. In 1998 Dr. Robert Zubrin brought into being the Mars Society, and thousands of people from around the world have flocked to his banner. People from all walks of life have shown support for the exploration and colonization of Mars. Each year the Mars Society holds its annual conference, where experts and enthusiasts can meet to present and exchange ideas and information. Taken from the first four years’ conferences, On to Mars presents a wide variety of the many technical papers collected together in one volume. The future of mankind lies with the colonization of other planets, and eventually other solar systems, and colonizing Mars is the essential first step. With its ever growing population and dwindling resources, the end of Earth’s time as the sole home of humanity is drawing near. In a life where most of us spend the majority of our time in the day-to-day activities of simply surviving, the people of the Mars Society are looking beyond the immediate future to the needs of the human race as a whole. This embodies a definite sense of social responsibility. Although some aspects of exploring and colonizing Mars still need refining and fine tuning, the lion’s share of the technology and the understanding of the human condition are already in existence. The major missing factor is simply the realization and the commitment necessary to begin. The people of the Mars Society are working to educate and convince the political powers, the industry leaders, and you and me. We all have a stake in this. Many of the diverse specializations and concerns of Mars missions are introduced and explained in this book. Members of the Mars Society share with us their ideas, their knowledge, and their dreams, and encourage us to understand and commit to an important undertaking in the future survival of mankind.Features:Paperback: 264 pagesBonus CD-ROM, which includes movies and documentsPublisher: Apogee Books;Cdrom edition (August 2002) Language: EnglishBook Dimensions: 9.9 x 6.9 x 0.6 inches
