Blu-ray Movies With Digital Copy

Why is it that only Blu-Ray movies come with a separate digital copy?
I don’t have a Blu-Ray player because I have a Macbook and they don’t play Blu-Ray discs. Therefore it would be quite useless for me to buy a Blu-Ray movie. Yet the DVD prices are still $19.99 for new releases, and all I get is the one movie. Even though the “digital copy” that comes with Blu-Ray is regular dvd quality. Why do only Blu-Ray buyers get a digital copy? Aren’t I buying the movie too? Am I less of a customer because my brand of computer is unable to play Blu-Ray?
I didn’t ask if you thought I should buy a Blu-Ray player. I’m in college. I don’t have a steady income. I have a laptop to watch TV and movies on. No TV. All I ask is that I be able to do whatever I like with the DVD I purchased, why can’t I put it on my iPod but Blu-Ray purchases can? That was the question.
um you can buy regular dvds with digital copys
get a ps3–they have built in blu ray players
