Conan the Barbarian is an Excellent Movie
As usual, the critics were completely wrong about “Conan the Barbarian” staring Jason Momoa. This movie was 10 times better than the original movie made by Arnold. But there lies the problem.
The critics and the viewers keep comparing this movie to Arnold’s. But that is wrong, wrong, and wrong. It could have been called “Adam the Great” and then maybe people would keep from comparing it to the original. Because this newest movie has a completely different story. Someone said they didn’t like the story. Well, it is the oldest story ever told. In fact, it is identical to the other current playing movie called “Colombiana” staring Zoe Saldana from “Avatar. In both movies a child sees their father murdered, so child grows up and avenges their dad’s death. In Colombiana, Zoe is like a little terminator, although she is actually 5′ 9″ and a beautiful actress. In Conan, child grows up to be a very strong and determined warrior. Watching the character’s adventure through life is extremely entertaining.
In 3-D, Conan comes across as very special. While Arnold’s movie was a family movie, this movie was full of blood, violence, nudity, and many cool special effects that were not invented yet for the original movie. It was a non-stop action movie. No long drawn out dramatic scenes played by poor actors. In fact, Rose McGowan, from “Charmed:”, gave a commanding performance as an evil enemy. We truly hated her character in the movie, but loved her make-up job, and costume.
Someone said they didn’t like the way Conan “posed” during fight scenes. Does this someone ever watch an Arnold movie? Every time Arnold had his shirt off in a movie, he would pose for the camera. So apparently the director wanted to do the same thing with Jason Momoa. Since he did workout for the movie, this actually added the feeling that we were watching a warrior with great strength.
If you like everything this movie has to offer, than it is a must see!
