Rip Blu-ray Movies With Ps3

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

If I went back in time 2000+ years ago with my PSP streaming Wall-E off my PS3..Would I be bigger than Jesus ?

To be exact.

My PSP is streaming a high quality blu-ray rip of Wall-E over the Internet from my PS3 at home….which is in turn streaming the movie off my computer via the Media Server function

I’d have jesus status 20 years ago, let alone 2000 years ago.

Remote-Play > Jesus.

You had Jesus status when you posted this question…

blu-ray movies in 3d
1680 x 1050 @ 120hz monitor vs 1920×1080 @ 120hz?

I’ve seen the LCD tv’s running 1080p @ 120hz in stores and they’re so clear they’re almost 3D… and I know they now have the 120hz monitors but only run at 1680 x 1050, i mean thats a good bit better than 720p but how would it compare side by side if those two monitor and tv were put side by side playing a blu-ray movie or high end graphical games?

Thanks
I’ve seen 1080p 120hz HDtvs on display at bestbuy and when they demo blu-rays… its breathtaking. I’m telling you its almost 3D as the images jump off the screen at you.
Main reason i’m wondering is because i’m interested in the new 3D ready monitors, but they only max 1680 x 1050… so i’m wondering if the cool 3D effects will compensate for not doing 1080p and if its a mass difference or very subtle ones…

1920×1080 of course does have greater resolution than the former: 30 more lines and 240 more columns. It is also 16:9 aspect ratio versus 16:10. Blu-Ray uses 16:9 aspect ratio, resolution 1920×1080. So that one may look a bit better: no downscaling, and plus the 16:10 resolution would either need to letterbox (thin black bars at the top and bottom) or slightly vertically stretch the image. Besides the aspect ratio difference, you might not even notice the difference in quality, because the eye pays more attention to color and motion than it does to fine details when watching video. And both are pretty high resolution.
For a game, it would all depend on the game. One with a native resolution of, say, 1680×1050 would of course look better on the 1680×1050 monitor.
One final note, let’s not get carried away with the refresh rate number: this is not directly comparable to the refresh rate of a CRT monitor, in which every frame is completely redrawn, versus LCD, in which only individual pixels are changed.
